Attorney Jeffrey W. Roberts assisted by Attorney Antonio E. Dos Santos represented the shareholders of long-time client Merriam-Graves Corporation in its sale to Airgas, Inc. in Feb 2008.
Merriam-Graves was one of New England’s largest distributors of atmospheric gases and related products, with locations in New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.
The transaction was the final stage of a business succession plan begun by former Robinson Donovan partner Gordon H. Wentworth and Attorney Roberts in the 1970’s, which successfully transferred equity and control through the founder’s generation to the current stockholders with virtually no estate taxation.
