Attorneys James F. Martin and Antonio E. Dos Santos continue to work on a major wind energy project in Florida and Monroe, Massachusetts. Recently Martin and Dos Santos drafted Special Legislation that Governor Deval L. Patrick signed which cleared the way for the two towns to negotiate up to a 25 year PILOT (payment in lieu of taxes agreement) with PPM Energy.
The Hoosac Wind Project will include 20 wind turbines in the towns of Florida and Monroe. Governor Patrick also initiated new procedures regarding time lines for environmental permitting. The new procedures will help the Project that has been stalled by the environmental appeals process.
The work on behalf of the project calls upon the significant experience Martin, Dos Santos and other Robinson Donovan attorneys have regarding real estate, zoning, land use and regulatory matters.
