Jeffrey McCormick is one of the preeminent trial lawyers in Western Massachusetts with more than thirty years of consistent success in the Massachusetts state and federal courts.
Jeff, a resident of Longmeadow, Massachusetts, was born in Port Jefferson, New York in 1947. He was educated at the University of Massachusetts (B.A., 1970; M.Ed., 1971), and at Seton Hall University School of Law (J.D., 1975) where he was elected Editor-in-Chief of The Law Review. He was admitted to practice in Massachusetts in 1976 and in the U.S. Supreme Court in 1985.
Jeff served as law clerk in Boston to the Honorable Frank H. Freedman in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts from 1975 to 1977. He served the Hampden County Bar Association as president in 1993 and 1994. He was elected president of the 18,000-member Massachusetts Bar Association for 1999 and 2000.
Jeff is a fellow in the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers, and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He was appointed by Governor Mitt Romney to the Massachusetts Judicial Nominating Commission in 2003. In 2007 he was appointed by the state Supreme Judicial Court to serve on the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers. He is a past member of the Supreme Judicial Court Committee on the Rules of Professional Conduct and a past president of the Massachusetts Bar Institute.
