Mike joined Robinson Donovan in the spring of 2009, bringing seven years of legal experience to our firm. A native of Upstate New York’s Finger Lakes Region, Mike has been a resident of Western Massachusetts since June 2003.
Mike earned a B.A. in Philosophy, magna cum laude, from Hobart College in Geneva, New York in 1998. He was recognized with the Foster S. Boswell Award for Excellence in Philosophy. Before going to law school, Mike worked for a year as a paralegal at a large firm in Rochester, New York. He went on to earn his J.D. from Cornell Law School in 2002. While at Cornell, Mike served as editor and writer for the Cornell Law Tower and was awarded the CALI Award for Constitutional Law and Political Theory.
Mike was admitted to practice before the bar in Massachusetts in 2002 and in New York in 2003. He was admitted to the Federal District Court for Massachusetts in 2009. He is a member of the Massachusetts and Hampshire County bar associations, and the Pioneer Valley Estate Planning Council.
Prior to joining Robinson Donovan, Mike was a partner at a firm in Amherst. In that position he gained significant experience assisting clients on estate planning and administration matters. He also worked with several area small businesses, including non-profit entities. In addition, Mike represented numerous individual and corporate fiduciaries in the Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin county probate courts. Before joining that firm in 2003, he spent a year as an associate at a large firm in Albany.
A resident of Granby, Mike is a member of the board, vice president, and former clerk of the Granby Heights Condominium Association. He is a member of the Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce. He has spoken to various groups about estate planning and related areas.
