Jim Martin is well known in the community for his depth and breadth of business law expertise. His clients rely upon him for his counsel in litigation, financial and transactional matters.

Jim, a resident of Longmeadow, Massachusetts, was born in Springfield in 1953. He was educated at Georgetown University (B.A., 1975; J.D., 1978), and admitted to practice in Massachusetts in 1978 and in Indiana in 1979. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. District Court of Massachusetts, as well as the U.S. Tax Court.

Jim has served on the Springfield Riverfront Development Commission and as president of the Western Massachusetts Georgetown University Alumni Association. Jim has long been active in the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Classic, serving as the president of the 1993 and 1994 Tip-Off Classics and as chairman of its Board of Directors.

Jim is a former chairman of the Board of Trustees of Baystate Medical Center and now serves as a director of Baystate Health System, Inc. He is a member of the Hampden County and Massachusetts Bar Associations and the Massachusetts Bar Foundation. He is a long-time coach of youth soccer, basketball and lacrosse.
